Panama City Fall Tailgate, Oct 12th

Hello, Fellow Ham Operators:

We would like to inform you that the Panama City Amateur Radio Club is celebrating its semi-annual Fall Tailgate Gathering and Sale on the 12th of October from 9am to 1pm, or until everyone has had their fill. We will have old and semi-new electronic equipment and parts on the block for barter by the deserving. AND... you can bring your own Ham or electronic equipment to sell or trade.

Bring a table to set up and clear out that basement stockpile of your no longer-needed shack equipment. Our clubhouse is overflowing with goodies and/or boat anchors to the point that our members need more places to rest during our meetings. See what bargains you can find that will perfectly complement your shack.

Here is a link to our Facebook Event Page that tells you all about it:

Then, dig into the Discussion tab to see more pictures.

Go to the site, look, and be amazed, then plan to come. That'October 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to whenever everyone leaves with smiles on their faces.

130 N. Church Ave.
Panama City, Florida 32401-4900

We'll be expecting you,

Two Meter FM Frequencies for Bay County Weather Events

Doug KN4PFZ  suggests most amateurs make contact on the calling channel 146.520 or the 145.210 repeater.   In its new location, the .210 will be resilient.   If we run a Skywarn net, it would be on the 145.210.

The N4KGL-R Echolink node is on the 145.210 repeater. It depends on the mains power and the internet.

146.565 is another Bay County simplex frequency.

N4KGL's 2024 ARRL Field Day

For the 2024 ARRL Field Day, Rick NZ2I of Panama City and I operated from Eastbank Campground in Southwest Georgia on the East side of Lake Seminole. We were a two-operator, two-transmitter Class B Battery entry. We got 350 contacts for 3500 points plus 450 bonus points. The heat was brutal, but we still had fun. Here are some photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/nfWibga1dUe8SRLh8. I listed Panama City ARC as my club to help the aggregate score.

Enjoy,

Greg N4KGL
